Sunce Wallet is a simple yet functional cross-platform non-custodial wallet built on the Stellar blockchain, developed by members of the Montelibero movement.

History

The project is a successor to Solar Wallet, which ceased support in early 2022.

On December 22, 2023, a Telegram channel @Sunce_Wallet was created to coordinate collaborative efforts for relaunching the wallet.

Initial steps included reviving the build, fixing critical bugs, adding Russian language support, and changing the app's color palette. After unsuccessful attempts to publish the wallet on Google and Apple marketplaces, a decision was made to change the name and logo.

On May 14, 2024, @poutru proposed the name "Sunce," and @cheese_hs designed the logo. By the end of 2024, @troggy became the main developer of Sunce, with administrative support from Soz.

Key Differences from Solar and New Features

  • Primary color changed from blue to golden
  • Russian language interface added
  • Option to hide spam transactions
  • Ability to import multiple accounts with a shared secret key
  • Default payment form does not include a token (XLM) by default; it must be specified
  • "Add new account" button appears at the end of the account list
  • Main tokens from Montelibero's tokenomics suggested when adding new assets
  • Support for SEP-07 (Stellar payment links)
  • Contacts display names instead of random strings
  • Ability to mark favorite assets and hide irrelevant ones

Features

The wallet allows users to manage multiple accounts, view transaction history, send payments, perform exchanges on the built-in Stellar DEX, issue their own tokens, and sign transactions prepared by third parties.

Platform Specifics

Sunce operates as a standalone application built on a web stack (TypeScript) and is available for Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux. It can also be built for iPhone.

Due to regulatory reasons, Sunce is not currently available on Google and Apple marketplaces. However, an existing fork, DoBro Wallet, is published on both the AppStore and Google Play, albeit with some delays and limited functionality.

Localization

Sunce is available in English, Russian, Serbian, German, Spanish, and Italian. Translations are managed on the Crowdin platform.

Account Management

Sunce is a multi-account wallet. Users can add multiple accounts and participate in managing multi-signature accounts. Each account can have a separate password for signing transactions.

Assets

Users can add various assets to their accounts, either through search or by manually entering the code and issuer. Sunce allows for the issuance of custom tokens and trading them on the built-in Stellar DEX.

For users with numerous assets, Sunce offers features to mark important assets as favorites, moving them to the top of lists, or to hide assets so they don't appear in lists.

Contacts

The application includes an address book. Users can add new contacts from transaction history with a couple of clicks, allowing for recognizable names instead of random addresses.

The address book is shared across all accounts, and its format is compatible with other platforms like BSN.Expert.

Trading

Sunce allows users to place orders to exchange any of their assets for any other asset. Both issued tokens and received ones can be used for offers — as the selling or buying side.

Swap functionality (automated pathfinding for cross-exchanges) has not been implemented yet.

Stellar Links

Sunce supports so-called SEP-07 links, which contain instructions for either making a payment or signing a transaction. The user always has the final say — they can review the operation, confirm the signing, and send it.

This is especially useful when participating in multi-signature transactions.

It’s also convenient when using the MW wallet collaboratively, by adding accounts there in "read-only" mode. Signing the transactions can then be delegated to Sunce.

How to Support

There are several ways to support the development of Sunce Wallet:

  • Financially, by sending EURMTL or XLM to the account Template:Stellar.
  • As a developer — if you work with TypeScript, check out the project’s GitHub repository. There’s plenty to add and optimize. Many tasks are listed under issues.
  • As a translator — you can add support for a new language or improve existing translations.
  • Or simply by spreading the word: tell your friends about Sunce, write an article, or share your user experience.
