Материал из Montelibero

Montelibero - libertarian social project to build a free society in Europe, with a main focus on Montenegro[1]. This is the Old World adaptation of the New Hampshire FSP idea, implemented starting in 2020.

Montenegro was chosen as a relatively poor, cheap, and therefore widely accessible country for moving and living, with a small and diverse population, nevertheless being a European liberal democracy in a comfortable Mediterranean climate and geography[2].

As of mid-2024, the project has over a hundred permanent immigrants in the country and several thousand digital community members who participate in it ad hoc and remotely.

The community is implementing its own private village based on libertarian principles and technologies, such as the extensive use of mobile modular and geodome construction, NFT and blockchain tokenization in all aspects of its real estate, and a DAO as the decision-making system within it. Over 30 participants are permanently present on site as residents and residents of the libertarian village[1]. The area hosts an annual international libertarian festival, which attracts representatives of similar projects, including Liberland, Lieberstadt, and other libertarian organizations, as well as libertarian speakers such as Mikhail Svetov and Vit Jedlička[3].

Criticism

Commentators note that many libertarian ideas, such as ending the welfare state, will not find support among local residents[4].
