It is located on a 7 sq. km piece of land between Croatia and Serbia. The piece of land is not claimed by both Croatia and Serbia due to their multi-year border dispute, thus allowing Czech libertarian Vít Jedlička to claim the territory and establish the new country of Liberland in 2015.
