Is it possible to study when your computer crashes?

My laptop just died on me last night and I think I lost all my legal research for my dissertation. I have been crying for hours because the deadline is next week and I have no money to fix it. I have to go to the public library now but it is always so loud and crowded there. The desperation got so bad today that I honestly considered using a Law Dissertation service just to help me rewrite my chapters quickly. Has anyone else survived a tech disaster this close to the end?
